Seriously, what is the deal with Florida?

May 30th, 2008 · 3 Comments

Tampa Florida teacher Debra LaFave leaves the court room because she is "too pretty to go to prison"

I know some may be offended by this, but I’m seriously wondering if trash moves to Florida, or does Florida make them that way?  According to Hillary Clinton, Florida is an incredibly important state, so this blog post will kill my chances for the presidency, but it has gotten to the point that I can hear a news story and instantly know that these people must live in Florida.

It’s official, the MacBook Air is a dud…so far

May 29th, 2008 · 3 Comments

I love Apple.  I’m a devout Mac fan.  I have an iPhone, MacBook Pro, Cinema Display, iMac, multiple iPods, Apple TV (first gen), and even an Apple Hi-Fi.  I have not used a Microsoft product in over a year.  I use Pages instead of Word, Numbers instead of Excel, Mail instead of Outlook…you get the picture.  When I heard the rumor that Apple was releasing a sub-notebook, I was thrilled.  I loved the idea of getting a shinny new iMac and an ultra light laptop and keeping them synced.  Not only did I like that it would travel light, but since I work from home it would also be great to have something small to carry from room-to-room with me while I worked throughout the day.  [Read more →]

What to do about Sudan?

May 28th, 2008 · 1 Comment

A small group of Sudanese people

Sudan, located in northeast Africa, is the largest country on the continent and is compact in shape. It occupies an area 967,494 sq miles and is approximately one-fourth the size of the United States. Some of its neighboring countries are Chad on the west, Egypt to the north, Ethiopia on the east, and Kenya, Uganda, and Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south. The Red Sea accounts for about 500 miles of the eastern coast. It is traversed from north to south by the Nile River, all of whose tributaries are either partly or entirely within its borders. The terrain is generally flat, featureless plain; the arid Nubian Desert dominates the northern region, compared to the tropical climate and mountains found in the south. [Read more →]

Josh Lefkowitz is an ass

May 28th, 2008 · No Comments

Have you ever posted to Craigslist with a legit ad only to have some ass-clown “flag” your ad for some unknown reason?  I don’t blame Craigslist for this, they have developed a system to let the community police itself. Unfortunately this has a Stanford prison experiment effect that makes some users think they are somehow in a position of authority.  Josh Lefkowitz is one of those types of people. [Read more →]

The Wrightspeed SR-71

Picture of Wrightspeed SR-71 electric car

When I first saw the Tesla Roadster, I wanted one.  The Lotus styling, the Ferrari-like speed, the George Clooney - like social awareness….  It looked like the perfect sports car.  Of course Tesla has had their share of issues, and to get on the list you have to plunk down $100k and wait your turn, which could be upwards of a year.

The New Indiana Jones Movie

May 24th, 2008 · No Comments

Harrison Ford from Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

I can clearly remember being 12 years old and waiting in line for hours to see Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.  Now 24 years later I got to bring my son.  Fortunately no real line this time.  Much like the feeling I got when I took him to see The Phantom Menace, it felt like a circle being completed.  [Read more →]

Using Blogo in WordPress

May 21st, 2008 · 4 Comments

I’m always up for a good blogging tool, especially one that allows multiple platforms.

So when my friend Russ sent over the link to the TUAW post about Blogo, I figured it would be worth checking out. One of the items it includes is the ability to drag and drop images, which is great. If there is one area, besides security, where WordPress drops the ball, it’s easy image upload and formatting.

The BrainJuice, the makers of Blogo, allow you to try the software for 25 days without paying. So I downloaded Blogo to give it a try. The problem is, it doesn’t seem to work. [Read more →]

A Real Wall-E

May 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Picture of the star of the upcoming Disney and Pixar film, Wall-E
Having spent my college summers working at Disneyland, as well as being a parent, I have first hand knowledge of the Disney merchandising machine. We were told in Disney U, the week long training program every Disneyland employee goes through, that the very appearance of Mickey Mouse on a t-shirt increases the value by $15.

Casey Mundling Arrested for Raping a 15 Year Old Girl

Picture of Crystal, she says Casey Mundling raped her

Sometime on Thursday May 1st, beneath the videos of sneezing pandas, exploding coke and Mentos, and Batman commercials, a 16 year old girl named Crystal uploaded a desperate plea for help.  In this video a young girl is crying and asking for help because the district attorney in Orange County, Florida has dropped the case against Casey Mundling, whom this girl claims drugged and raped her when she was only 15 years old.
