Is GameWar Really GamePal?

A couple days ago I got a comment here that Gamepal now owns Gamewar.com. I didn’t think much about it until “Margaret” posted a follow up comment directed at me denying the relationship. These comments came within a short time of me getting the Gamepal  “cease and desist” email. I know Gamepal reads my blog, and I know they are pretty stupid, so I decided to investigate.

By investigate, I mean check the whois for Gamewar.com on Netsol.com. Take a look at the image here, and I think you’ll agree that there is some evidence that Gamepal does in fact own Gamewar.com. If you’re trying to keep this a secret, ol’ Smity may want to opt for the privacy option on domains that even your average webcam girl can figure out.

Here’s another message for you Smity; the more you threaten and insult me, the more you gain my attention. You do not want my attention.

For anyone looking at using Gamewar.com, you may want to check out my experience with Gamepal. You should also check out this Rip Off Report on Gamepal. There also appears to be a Rip Off Report on Gamewar. Be sure you know what you’re doing when you hire the company. They don’t like giving refunds, and they threaten action against those of us who complain.

Update: I am already on page of Google for Gamewar, it only took about 90 minutes!

  6. Hey, still GAMEWAR refuse to even speak to me,
their Live chat help people are Extremely rude and Im just not getting anywhere,
I have contacted Paypal AGAIN, and I have sent them MULTIPLE pieces of Evidence that this is a Fraudulent company that rips off MANY, MANY people mainly using Paypal’s Services to do so,
Since paypal claim NOT to do buisness or Support ANY fraudulent company’s it will be interesting to see their response to the evidence I have given them,
I am currently awaiting Paypals response which I shall also post here,
Once again, any and all advice is greatly appreciated,
and a HUGE Thank You to those who have already offered me some help or advice, Its TRULY appreciated. ^_^

  7. I have took this to paypal but the gamepal has sent them bogus shipping information and looks like paypal has fialed another one of thier customers like the 6th time in 10 years that paypal has failed me. My sister is a lawyer and i start the process of a lawsuit lol for a little 417 cash which i can make in a day but its more the purpose of this then the money. and evidence i can get from the people to show in court about these wrongful dealing from gamepal or gamewar would be great. please list you evidence here if you would like.

    Thank you Kgrif

  8. Ah great. I’m trying to trade my AO account with gamepal for a coupon to buy an eve account. So far i sent the details and the password for the account was wrong so i emailed blake back with the correct one. This was over a day ago. So i resubmitted my info on gamepal and am awaiting to see if all goes through smoothly this time. From reading all this i guess its fingers crossed ^^

  9. Syrous,

You must be one of the lucky people. I purchased an account on Sunday and I still have nothing. No account, No refund, or even a solution. I just get the usual just email account dept from live chat, and from the emails I do get it tells me to wait for an account manager to contact me. 6 days nows! I will update again soon.

  10. TALKED WITH SOMEONE FROM GAMEPAL THIER WORDS WE DONT HAVE THE ACCOUNT AND IF YOU DONT THEN YOU MUSTVE DONE SOMETHING WITH IT SO NO ITS YOUR PROBLEM AND NOT OURS SO ENJOY THE ACCOUNT.

THIS COMPANY FEEDS SO MUCH BS IM ABOUT TO SHOWUP AT THIER NC AND MI OFFICE AND GO POSTAL

  11. Hello,

I guess you could say I’m a lucky one? I had bought a SWG account for 150$ from Gamepal back in September of 07′ 2 days later when I received the account, everything I ordered was wrong. The account wasn’t stripped or stolen back, but it just wasn’t what I ordered, it actually was a more expensive account, then what I ordered. Still, not what I ordered.

It took countless e-mails to even get 1 lame response. Over a month past and I was FINALLY getting somewhere, and Bam! the order was refunded a few days into October. I’m glad it was, but I still never got compensation for reactivating the wrong account. They promised I would get the compensation, no go. This company is bad news either way you go.

    My order number was 110241

If you are thinking of ordering from this site, do not. You either will be ripped of or extremely disappointed, it’s not worth it. I feel for those who are still fighting these people, it sucks. I hope all of you get your issues resolved soon.

  12. Ed,

I would like to restore your faith in the MMMORPG service industry. I will offer you the most secure account in the account reselling industry. I will make you an account with your first and last name on it, lvl 70, any class, made on the pvp server of my choosing. guaranteed to completed, no risk to you, about 45-60 days to complete. I will start with no money down, only pay upon completion. $399, for $100 more i will add the 5 piece gladiator armor set for you class and some weapons. Please check out my site for more details.

Back to Gamepal: there was a site called accounts.markeedragon.com, it was gamepal that claimed that that site was an affiliate as well, it looked EXACTLY like gamewar. Gamepal is also known to screw workers out of thier money too.

  13. Update: Still no word from any account managers. This is day 9. They got my $350 and they haven’t even offered a solution. Very slow and I bet they are just waiting for me to give up. I’m not!

  14. Well I too have been scammed, basically purchased an account and the description was incorrect of what the account actually was even if it was just one lvl. The cusomter rep told me it was a melee class and it wasnt to boot. My order number (115242). If class action lawsuit is made please include me.

After 7 e-mails, an all day attempt at results, phonecalls, and chats with all the livereps, this is the best I got for honesty.

I wish this person the best, and hope it doesnt endanger his job as he did what was right, good customer service to the extent he was able to provide. Sometimes, the truth is the best thing anyways.

[Live Chat Team] Hello! This is Arianna, how may I help you?
    [Charles Woodall] hello arianna
[Charles Woodall] after reading http://www.ripoff.com reports and the endless bather about fraud regarding all 20 of your sites, I feel I am running out of options here.
[Charles Woodall] the account I was sold was different then the descirption, I just wanted to trade it the 68 orc destroyer account you had, and everyone be happy
[Charles Woodall] but after e-mails sent all day to gamewar and gamepal no one will reply.
[Charles Woodall] tomorrow morning I am reporting it too bbb.org, calling navy fedral credit union (my vias through them) and they will pursue further legal acitons free of charge for me. I will also open a case with paypal, copy paste all the fraud activity.
[Charles Woodall] I have called, e-mailed, and spoke with every livechat rep for your 10 websites trying to reach a resolution beneficial for us both
    [Live Chat Team] Sir
[Charles Woodall] I even found your phone number and called long distance to me…
[Live Chat Team] The people that are responsible of this don’t even have access to the live chat program, so unless I specifically copy and paste this into an email for them, they’re not going to see it.
[Live Chat Team] AND I told you before that that phone number was not correct as it wasn’t even in the correct state.
[Charles Woodall] I just want to be a satifisfied customer, i have purchased form you guys in the past
[Live Chat Team] I understand that.
[Charles Woodall] I called the MI and NC numbers.
[Live Chat Team] And you can go on and on as much as you like, but telling me this isn’t going to change anything because I don’t have the access necessary to do anything.
[Charles Woodall] but at this point livechat just washes their hands clean which means the company is fraudulent
[Live Chat Team] I’m just here to answer general questions about the site.
[Charles Woodall] but that means you deal with this daily yes?
    [Live Chat Team] No.
[Live Chat Team] Live Chat is run by a company completely separate from GamePal.
[Live Chat Team] I don’t have access to their vendor system, I don’t have access to the managers, and I don’t have access to their PayPal.
[Live Chat Team] I’m not “washing my hands” of anything.
[Charles Woodall] oh so you guys dont care then lol
[Live Chat Team] I never got into it in the first place.
[Charles Woodall] so you work for free then?
    [Live Chat Team] No.
    [Charles Woodall] they pay you?
[Live Chat Team] My bosses pay me.
[Charles Woodall] so you work untaxed?
[Live Chat Team] No, I report my taxes.
[Charles Woodall] my point is, you must have a contact, a real live contact who can help me
    [Live Chat Team] Nope.
[Charles Woodall] My job has phone numbers
[Charles Woodall] if you called mclanes with an issue, I would be able to push you uphill
[Live Chat Team] Yeah, and I can call my bosses, but my bosses have the same abilities that I do with regards to GamePal.
[Charles Woodall] so they dont know smithy?
    [Live Chat Team] Smity.
[Charles Woodall] hes the owner correct?
[Charles Woodall] I just want to know who I need to speak to to resolve this issue.
[Charles Woodall] because my e-mails arent being responded too.
[Charles Woodall] no matter which site I send them too.
    [Live Chat Team] Yeah.
[Live Chat Team] And he’s the person you should be talking to.
[Charles Woodall] how can i contact him?
[Live Chat Team] He is one of the people who is supposed to be answering the accounts emails.
[Charles Woodall] so I can repost on the blogs and ripoff.com that you guys are legit, and do indeed pursue to honor your 100% guarantees listed on all your websites.
[Charles Woodall] I am trying to make you guys look better not worse, but we both no disputes must be made in days of purchase with NFCU and Paypal.
[Charles Woodall] I am doing everything in my power here to reach a civil accord
[Charles Woodall] so that everyone is happy
    [Live Chat Team] Honestly?
    [Charles Woodall] yes
[Charles Woodall] all i want is the right account, and to play on my days off
[Live Chat Team] Go ahead and do everything you said you would at the beginning of the conversation.
[Charles Woodall] so in other words, your saying basically, “screw you”
[Live Chat Team] It will probably end up saving you time and I hope to God it would actually make them FIX the problems they’re having right now.
[Live Chat Team] No, I’m nor.
    [Charles Woodall] ohhhh I see
[Charles Woodall] you actually agree with me lol
[Live Chat Team] I’m saying that they’re just plodding along doing the same things every day and they need a wake up call.
[Live Chat Team] Live Chat has been telling them as much for months now, but they’re ignoring us.
[Charles Woodall] my apologies, dont mean to seem so rude, but after countless hours, on my day off, this is all i have done.
[Live Chat Team] I haven’t heard from them in over a month, and my managers haven’t heard from them in over a week.
[Live Chat Team] But as is, I’m still getting paid and I’m still on MY plan to put myself through college and better myself in the long run.
[Charles Woodall] so that means they are knowingly scamming, and just using you guys as a fascade
    [Live Chat Team] No.
[Charles Woodall] yeah I agree with you.
[Live Chat Team] They’re not deliberately scamming people, they’re just understaffed and not doing anything about getting and properly training enough staff to handle the volume of sales they’re handling.
[Charles Woodall] lesson learned tho, guess form now on you check contact info PRIOR to making a purchase to ensure you can talk to a real person lol
[Live Chat Team] Not just a real person, but a real person who can *help.*
    [Charles Woodall] I agree.
[Live Chat Team] A lot of CSR’s are just meant to make nice to the public.
[Live Chat Team] If I could help, I would, but as is I’m just running into a brick wall all day long.
[Live Chat Team] Really, I’m in a dark room running into a brick wall all day.
[Charles Woodall] do you mind if I post our convo on the blogs and ripoff.com, if anyhting I can pursuade people form buying form them to prevnt further issues for others at my own personal loss?
[Live Chat Team] I’d really rather you not as I could get fired. . . I have a very different typing style from the other CSRs.
[Live Chat Team] But I can’t actually stop you from doing what you think is right.
[Charles Woodall] dont want to get you fired, but on other hand I do want results against Mr. Smity
[Live Chat Team] And it’s actually Mr. Smith.
[Charles Woodall] cant say its american owned, then not operate under american standards imo
[Live Chat Team] Smity is just a nickname.
    [Charles Woodall] ohhh lol
[Live Chat Team] It is American owned, they’re just not extremely experienced in real work.
[Charles Woodall] well ty for your time, I will do what you say post this convo after some adjustments, and just file fraud against them, and go ahead and do a reversal of payments with paypal.

I e-mailed Mr. Smith this same convo. Some items were adjusted to protect the livehelp rep. Nothing has been adjusted tho, all reponses are real.

TY everyone, one we are merely dust in the wind, together in efforts we are a hurricane.

    GL!

    Charles Woodall

  15. Dont Trust This Company!!! Gamepal Inc.

Gamepal Inc (www.gamepal.com) opened their RP branch, Gamepal International Corporation (GIC) last August 2006. This is a gaming company wherein their employees get paid to play videogames for customers worldwide.

GIC has 5 board members who has equal share of stocks (1/5 each):
Eric Smith(foreigner) – President (co-owner of Gamepal Inc)
    Lars Lien(foreigner) – Vice-president
    Kristine Rodrigo(filipina) – Board Secretary/HR Manager
    Michelle Marin(filipina) – Board Treasurer/Admin/Payroll Manager
    Daisy Bongais(filipina) – Board Member

They hired roughly 200 people. Now, during the first week of April, the president left for the US. He never returned and never sent the payroll money, thus leaving all the employees without salary for April 30th. The president was in charge of the money/profit since everything has to go through the US branch and the payroll bank account only has enough for half a month of salaries which was paid for the April 15th.

Because of this, the VP immediately announced a temporary suspension of operations due to losses. When the employees threatened to file a case, he also left the country. When the board secretary and treasurer found out about this, they went into hiding and no one was able to reach them. Even the company lawyer couldnt reach them.

The highest remaining officer, the Process Improvement Director, then found a way to force the President to send the April 30th salary. All employees were able to get that. Now, the director decided that the remaining company assets (computer equipment, etc) be sold so that the company can pay for the severance/backpay and salaries of the few remaining employees(who worked may 1-15 to properly facilitate the closure and get the financial records ready).

To do this though, the director needed the signatures of the board secretary and the help of the board treasurer since the GIC wasnt able to pay the building’s rent/bills. And the building will not let them take the equipment out of the office until they were able to pay the bills.

Still, only the remaining board member (daisy) was cooperative but since she wasnt the board sec, they weren’t able to do anything. The two other boardmembers still was very uncooperative and still didn’t attend any meeting with the company lawyer.

They then heard that the employees are going to file a case against them at NLRC/Dole. The board secretary then texted employees saying that the backpay/severance is ready but they just don’t want the director to handle it because they think that he is trying to keep money for himself and that they want to pay the building dues first BEFORE salaries/backpay. (The board treasurer is the broker and is a personal family friend of the building admin)

The director refuted this saying that everything he did in facilitating the closure is well documented and can be attested to by the accountant, assst HR manager, company lawyer and the remaining board member.

Because of this, we, together with that director and the remaining dept managers filed a case at NLRC. Our hearing will be on the last week of june. We have already filed for sevarance/backpay/unpaid salaries/moral damages/attorneys fees.

I’m asking, is there any other case that we can file against these 2 board members? Specially the Admin/Payroll Manager because it was shown i the financial records that she has a lot of unaccounted losses in the company funds. (e.g. no reciepts for 2,000pesos she got for supposed “gas money” without reciepts, etc) Cause those losses have amounted to 300,000 pesos.

  16. There are days I wish I had checked more in-depth into my transactions. Two months ago, I decided that after reading some of the reports / resolutions for Gamepal, that I’d give them a try. With their promise of a 100% money back offer, I figured it would be a simple matter of filing the request and receiving a refund. I clearly didn’t get to sites like these in time.

This is just a note to let ya’ll know that even months later, they still haven’t gotten their act together. I’ve been in contact with the support team, who’s promised to get me in touch with the accounts team, and the trail dies there. I find it amusing that people claiming to be from Gamepal/Gamewar pop on here to “resolve” issues, yet none of them seem to be resolved. Unfortunately, the only way to seemingly get their attention is opening a Paypal dispute. And since that’s the only option, it seems that’s where I’m headed too. Well, that and the BBB considering they are a fraudulent business…

For those of you whining about Ed and his experience, or any of us with our experiences, because you’ve had a decent transaction, you may as well save your typing. Just because you have a good experience does not invalidate all of our bad experiences.

  17. I am in the process dealing with these people at the moment.

I wonder how they get the funding to do all this.

    It’s my main Question.

I only wish i found this blog sooner – to give myself a heads up.

  18. Man, I’m in quite the opposite fix now. After reading all these, I’m very hesitant in selling my account to them. I offered them my lv70 Hunter on WoW and they offered me 133 dollars. I thought, great…awesome…then I read this blog. lol. I bet these guys will simply take my account info, give me their store credit and then refuse to give me real money.

Yeah…I’m in a jam finance wise too >_> I’ll be looking up other sites to sell to then.

  19. I found this site by searching on the phrase “warcraft account complaint”

I wish I had found it a month ago.

I just wanted to mention that sites selling World of Warcraft accounts may be affiliated with GamePal. For example, I bought an account at Newbville.com but the payment via PayPal went to MMO Account Character Services ([email protected]).Additionally, the web sites for Newbville and GamePal are pretty similar. I won’t recount my experience with Newbville as it would take too long, but I would never advise anyone to buy an account from them. I still do not have the information registered with the account including the email address and the account can be taken back by them or the original owner anytime and I will have nothing to show for it. The account wasn’t as advertised, and their guarantee on their web site is not worth the virtual space it is written on IMHO.

While waiting for replies to my repeated emails I bought an account at MMOBay that I can actually use. I am not advertising for them, and would only suggest that people who really want to buy an account try to find an account somewhere being sold by someone who seems reputable, for example, someone who has been a registered seller on eBay for a long time with a good feeback record.

I hope people thinking about buying a WoW account find this site and read the comments.

  20. I wish I read this about two weeks ago before I bought from Gamewar. It has been 12 days since I ordered a World of Warcraft account from them and I have not heard from them once. Not even an email. I go into “Live Chat” and they tell you to email “[email protected]”. You email them and they do not reply, even after 20 emails. I have an open dispute through Paypal right now. DO NOT under any circumstances buy from Gamewar.com. The whole thing is a scam.

  21. I wish I had found this blog before I sold as well. I decided to sell my account to them, and still no money after 2 weeks. I will keep trying though, I am not going to give up.

  22. Hello all!

Sorry I had been busy working the past few months and didn’t follow up with my posts.

They ended up selling me a hacked ffxi account last year. After posting here they gave me a respond and a coupon for another account of the same value.

The coupon went through and I selected another account. However, the one thing similar to the last time was that all dropable gears and gil listed on description were removed.

And just like the first account, once I followed the procedure by changing pw and info reactivating account. I then realized the described gears and gil were gone once again, so I immediately email them about that. Well… no reply again, just like the last time LOL!!

Since you have to be the one to re-activate the account to see if everything is there, there was no way of ever verifying if it was ever there.

Welp thats my story! Lets just say if you are lucky to get your order through, you can expect anything dropable had been looted and sold!

    Have a good day!

  23. I do not recommend gamepal to anyone. I have bought an account from them and have been sending them emails ect so i can receive my full info on the account for about 4-5 months now. They have not even replied to one of my emails or taken any action. Even though their 24/7 people are very nice.(they are a 3rd part who has no care for gamepal at all just as long as they get paid)

  24. ya i just sold a guild wars account to Gamewar.com and i was wondering if people have had the same problems selling accounts as they did buying them, anyways i will keep all emails and open a claim with paypal if need be.

  25. Well, I just wish I had found this blog before I let Gamepal.com steal my money. At first all was well, but there problems with paypal and gamepal reset my password. Within 24 hours I had the problem with paypal corrected and the funds were released. That was over 2 weeks ago and I still have no account. They sent a new password after a week, but when I tried to change some of the account contact information on the blizzard website gamepal reset it again… so the wait continues. They do keep emailing me back, but I think that is their scam. They keep you hanging in hopes that you will wait and eventually loose interest and the will and or ability to persue legal recourse.

  26. Actually I seem to be having problems with them as well. Originally I aimed to sell an account through GamePal, but I never heard back from them. So I moved onto GameWar where I then attempted to sell two accounts (not realizing at the time that they are indeed related).

The first account was from SWG, and I was pleasantly surprised by what they were willing to pay (funny how it was more than gamepal). The 2nd account was from EvE, and the payout for that was pretty good also. So here I am, the EvE account was taken care of within 3 days, but the SWG account still has not been taken care of after 9 days.

Unfortunately for them I’ve got my own personal case of anxiety, so I’m like writing them every other day, and still getting the run around. So after doing a little searching first I ran into ripoff report and then this blog (used google search: gamepal gamewar gametag). LoL, what a bunch of crap, and oh yeah, apparently “Luna” is still the live chat operator.

  27. Attempted to sell 2 Runescape and 1 WoW account to gamewar. I was the original owner and provided perfectly legitimate information. I was accurate with my account details and personal information. That was 4 weeks ago, I have yet to receive my payment, promised to have been sent within 72 hrs of the initial submission. Now I am unable to lock into any of my accounts and recovery isn’t likely seeing as they are able to secure the accounts back at will. I STRONGLY suggest you do not deal with Gamewar/Gamepal in ANY way whatsoever.

    -Tyler

  28. Ugh, This morning I just accepted an offer from gamewar for my eve online account. They haven’t done anything with it yet so I just changed the password of the account after reading these posts. They have enough information from the acceptance form to nail me though if they want to, any ideas anyone?

    • I did the same thing. I accepted the offer and changed my passwords after reading about the scams. I am just going to state that I changed my mind, what can they do really? Unless money is dispensed into my Paypal account I have no obligation to them. I am simply protecting my asset. In the event that money is deposited I would then have to submit such details in order for them to take ownership of the account.

  29. Well here it goes ….

I went down a different road and went through warcraftloot.net. This compnay is indeed linked with gamepal/gamewar as my 3rd email of them had the address of this : [email protected] on behalf of WARCRAFTLOOT TEAM – http://www.warcraftloot.net ([email protected]) < now i have no idea about the connections within the companys but ofcourse i have had nothing but complete BS from them and there 3rd party live chat “sales support team”, How can they actually call themselves sales support if all they can do is give you automated crap. now when i went onto livechat for my verification call they passed the details to the accounts department and i had call within 10 minutes …. amazing. now they have my money ive had the run around.

i recieved an email saying this

i then went onto there site like a gullbile mug and attempted to purchase another account to no avail. they have fobbed me off and if you go onto there site even now they still have my account on there for every other person to pay $300 and get nothing back for it.

its absoloutly outrageous and wont be tollerated. Im from britain and have a case already opened with paypal and my online gaming commision. its being fully investigated and i will get answers even if its 6 mnths down the line and a judge gets out of them what i want. they will be closed down and there directors sued for compensation.

I will most deifintly keep you posted.

  30. I sold my accoutnt to them about 2 weeks ago and I still haven’t recieved any payment. They keep saying in the emails they are behind but I think its just a scam, I guess ill have to change my pass.

  31. Wow. i wish i would have read all this before i bought 2 account from gametag.com same affiliates as gamepal.com/gamewar.com/oloot.com/warcraftloot.net. on may 10th i bought an account from gametag.com for 615$ i was cool for a little while they told me after 60 days i could get all the personal information on the account. this is a world of warcraft account by the way. on june 10th. i couldnt log into the account. the toon was transfered off the server i was playing on and renamed to the orignal charcters name and on the original server as when i bought it. ive been in contact with this band of websites i keep getting emails from all of them, with the same automated emails

every single time. ive sent over 40 emails! im also in the army so im sending them from my ako as well, thinking theres a problem with varification or somthing.

i then got tired of waiting and found a great deal on an account that i couldnt refuse. so i bought another one after talking to a sales rep in thir usless live chat. he told me to tell them that i wanted all the account information up front, i would cancel the garentee but it wouldnt b in the hands of these goof balls. so i bought the new account for 465$ i waited 2 days to get the information. after telling them i wanted all the information they send me the login the pw and secret answer. and every that plays wow knows that the secret answer is pointless with out the email/email pw and impossible to transfer to another account with out the last name. i loged in changed the pw and my credit card information on the account. Played for about 2 hours just looking around to see what other characters were on the account and check out my gier . i log out for 30 secs cuz i laged out. i loged in the the PW WAS ALREADY CHANGED! irate at this point i spam emails to gametag emplying that i wanted all the information. then im clicking through my exporer windows and i still have the account info page up. i have the first name and zip code staring me in my face and sence over 30 million people have myspace i give it a chance…i contact the original owner. at the same time complaining to the live chat support. she was actually talking instead of spamming auto responses. my friend was in here that also ahs had a recalled acount from their site. he tells me to give it one more try on the pw. i type in my personal pw that i changed it to before. im loged in! im flying in the air with no mount falling to the ground. no gear on. someone loged into the account and changed it back to my PERSONAL PASSWORD. i have the original owner on msn very helpful game me his last name the email that was on the account when he sold it to them (the email was changed my gametag and i didnt have access to it but i didnt need it). i made an account with his first and last name i transfered the high level and most geared character on the account. ouala i have my toon. i wasnt going to get camed 2 times in a row. thankfull all the gear was still on the character all the gold gone and alot of expenive mats and plans were deleted. didnt bother me to much on that. im still trying to get my “garenteed” refund from gametag on the other toon from match requesting been account information for over 2 months and still the same emails.

tonight i was lookin around on there website because they change it so much. they now have it as an option to purcase the live garenteed for 99$! what a scam! and you also have to buy the account info! this is outrageous. im in the army i work my ass off for the little money i get and low lifes like this scam it out of me. after seeing this site im going to get a lawyer and have a chat about this. this is crazy. please post your thoughts on this

  32. and also not to mention i stilll havnt recieved payment for selling one to them either thats been 3 weeks. theyeve already changed the email and pw to the account so i cant log in.

  33. I feel bad for this Eric Smith character. From reading the posts it looks like he’s screwed over a ton of battle hardened military types in Iraq. When Obama brings those guys home next year some of them will probably go looking for him and his cohorts LOL.

  34. I also purchased an account, got nothing, got a code and was dumb enough to buy again, got nothing. I will be contacting a lawyer about this. CLASS ACTION here we come.

  35. In addition I have opened a paypal dispute with them as well, did anyone see thier ‘warning’ about opening up a paypal dispute? Just classice wish i had copied it, but basically it tells you not to file with paypal.

  36. I also bought an account from them, 3 months ago. I received a message that the account had been deleted, and that I needed to pick a new account. I did this, and received another message that the new account I picked had also been deleted. I kindly asked for a refund, and was sent their automatic response from Jacob. Since that time, 2 months ago, I have sent several emails asking for a refund, just to receive the same automatic response from Jacob. I hope that someone does initiate a class action law suit against them, I’m all on board for that.

  37. I spoke with my buddy who is involved in the MMOG RMT community this week. I mentioned GamePal, and he said he knew one of the owners there (which he told me to keep quiet), but I learned a lot. I won’t go into to many details but what I can say is that

1). GamePal Inc. is actually dissolved, not in business anymore or inactive as of 2007. The site was acquired by another company. As well, all these other sites seem to be owned by different individuals so they may only be affiliates.
2). If you go to their live chat, they are actually good the sales support that is, but it seems if their is a problem, the technical support is lacking. My buddy told me that accounts.net is a good example of having to much technical support will only cause long term issues with accounts as apparently he said 75% of the accounts ever sold on accounts.net have been banned. I never bought from them so I wouldn’t know so need some real feedback on them if that part is true.
3). The Philippines offices were relocated as they wanted to bring everything back to the US except for minor sales marketing etc., employees refused to cooperate, so they were laid off. They made a big scene, tried to sue, but lost. Besides if you ever went to the Philippines before, the government is so corrupt, they wouldn’t care anyway.
4). The big thing though summing this up I learned they are GIGANTIC! They own many companies fan sites, tools sites such as Innerspace, and apparently they own most of the major accounts and leveling websites out there and have the same thing with currency but their is more competition. When I asked how many employees they had, he said he doesn’t know but would guess over 500.

It was pretty interesting learning things about them. I’ve heard horror stories of wowmine and other sites much worse than this such as people being robbed and coming into offices with guns demanding money (IGE).

Overall, this industry is pretty sad. I think more of it leans on the Chinese and their illegal methods, but it’s very similar to internet casinos. RMT products are against TOS and though not illegal you buy at your own risk. I can’t recommend anyone to go with myself, but I can say that with the facts I have been provided, it’s a lack of support, not that they are actually fraud. Hope that helps those confused.

  38. Hello everyone.

I posted my case on Ed’s blog before, this is a follow-up from my last experience back from Oct. 2007.

I posted this on ripoff report a moment ago, but pasting here as well to get some thoughts on this…

I am feeling rather insecure right now…

I had a long battle to get some form of reimbursement from my first encounter with Gamepal/Gamewar from a very bad experience (account was nothing as desribed and got taken back by it’s owner after I paid). Its been almost a year since I got my current account.

However… I am afraid something worse installed for me from this reimbursement…

I am searching for account pricing and happened to go on gamepal for listing and what I found was…

The account I received from REIMBURSEMENT and been playing since then … is being LISTED ON SALE ON THE SITE RIGHT NOW.

It was the exact account description I got when I got it back in 2007.

WHY are they listing an account that is already sold to me?!

Background Story: Long story short about what happened: I purchased an ffxi account and it was then taken by by it’s owner in 2007 Oct. After weeks of email tagging down people from Gamepal/gamewar (as others have experienced) someone was “nice” enough to offer me a redeem coupon for another account with same value I purchased. Though this new account is missing what it claimed as per description (AGAIN), I did not receive any respond about those missing items. And tho I haven’t had trouble since I got it from Nov and till recent…

As I mentioned, I came across it on Gamewar.com still being listed for sale!!!

So, is this an indication that they will steal the account back from me when they find a buyer/victim? Then repeat this terrible process again?

I still have every single email to keep track of what happened.

Can anyone tell me what I should expect tho? Email them and tell em they made a mistake and take it off? Or…

Just when I thought everything is getting peaceful and now this….is there no way to secure the account?

  39. Addition/Correction, the account is now being listed by them on gamepal.com but from my emails back in Oct/Nov 2007 it was processed by gamewar (go figure…)

I forgot to add in my previous post, the listed account is the

    Rise Of Zilart: Yes
    Chains Of Promathia: Yes
    Treasures Of Aht Urhgan: Yes

Right now it is listed up there for $367.49….

p.s. this is the exact ad/ character that I got from them using the redeem coupon they reimbursed back in Oct/Nov 2007.

I dunno what will happen. Does that mean they are holding information to take this account back that was sold to me anytime they want so that they can resale again? LOL!

I will post again if that happens, hopefully not.

  40. Gamepal and gamewar are indeed one in the same. ALSO warcraftloot.net is in the same ring of lies. I sold my wow account to warcraftloot.net and its been over a month and still no payment. During this month, i’ve been attempting to get information out of the company, and one of the emails i was sent, was from an @gamepal.com email. Its all one big hoax and none of these websites should be trusted. They are clever scammers, using time as their weapon, but don’t be fooled. They will teal your hard earned dollars.

  41. I sold an account to gamewar.com and they just recently decided to come after me saying I reset the password. I got a email saying that they were going to come after me with collections in excess of $1700 when I only sold the account for $80. They had a collections agency call be saying they had my social security number and were going to take action against me. Is this even possible, if I didn’t do anything with the account after selling it to them? I was thinking this is all a big scare tactic to get more money out of me but it is a bit frustrating when a collector starts calling claiming to have my SSN#. Any ideas on how I can protect myself or if I should even worry about it would be appreciated.

  42. I’ve seen many posts from people saying the same thing. If I were you, I’d tell them to shove it. They can’t sue you for property that they do not and never did own. Also, I’m sure it wasnt a real collections acency, just them trying to scare you into giving them more money. Blizzard owns all world of warcraft accounts, meaning you pay blizzard monthly to use their account. They can’t do anything to you.

Update: I still never recieved payment so i requested that they give me my account back, which led to me entering a loop of “accounts team” emails. Every time i talk to one of their customer service people, whether it be by email or live chat (which btw the live chat reps know nothing and cannot help you) they tell me to email my “submission id” to an accounts team email address, So i do so, and i get an email back saying something like this.

    Hello,

I have sent your information to the Account Profilers to look into and see what additional information they may need from you.

    (submission ID)-REQUESTING ACCOUNT INFORMATION RETURNED

Please be patient as they are very busy and will get back to you as soon as they can.

    Regards,

    ******
    Accounts Team

I now have 9 emails in my inbox all similar to this from different reps claiming they have sent my information to the appropriate people and they’ll be getting back to me shortly, but they never do.

Please for the love of god do not use any of these websites: http://www.warcraftloot.net, http://www.gamewar.com, http://www.gamepal.com

  43. I have sold an account to gamewar and have never recieved payment… They also sayd that they would pay before changing any info yet that is not the case

  44. Damn it I should have done some research but I purchased my account through gamewar.com. 24 hours later they have my money and I have no account. WOW! I will keep you posted. I have sent four emails to no return.
