In today’s economy, it’s hard to create a life for yourself based on a minimum wage job.

Although the minimum wage was created to ensure a better life for Americans, it’s not always the exemplary choice in some people’s views. A great deal of Americans struggle to make minimum wage and barely make ends meet.

As a college student I understand how difficult it is to work a minimum wage job, go to school, buy food, buy necessities, do homework, pay rent, buy books, and pay car payments.

Over the past couple years, college students have discovered that the adult industry has been a relief to their money issues. Students have found various ways in the adult industry to pay back loans for school or pay for any other basic need of a college student. The “Sugar Daddy Solution,” is becoming a fad for college students across America.

It seems as though students looking to find a job in the adult industry most commonly end up escorting or seeking sugar daddy’s. Finding a job in the adult industry is not always on purpose. Chloe, a “pro girlfriend,” states that she found her arranged relationship on “accident.”

Chloe had been working at Buffalo Wild Wings in Las Vegas, when her car broke down and “needed a new alternator and starter which was going to cost about $1500.”

Chloe had found herself on craigslist looking for a more beneficial job. Unfortunately it’s hard to find a job that pays more without a degree. Chloe was embarrassed to say that she wandered off into the adult section of craigslist. She viewed ads for hookers, strippers, and porn stars. She realized she did not want to do any of those jobs.

Although she wasn’t interested in becoming Vegas’s next big strip show, she continued to view the adult section. Soon an ad for a “pro girlfriend,” appeared. Chloe wasn’t completely sure about what a “pro girlfriend,” was exactly, but was open to finding out about how it worked.

Chloe met up with the man who posted the ad on craigslist. While Chloe was 18 and still adapting to life on her own, he was 50. The first day Chloe and him met he immediately fixed her car, after a nice lunch of course.

According to Chloe there are many benefits to her arrangement. Not only is money a benefit, but Chloe has benefited in various ways. Chloe went from being as desperate as looking in the adult section on Craigslist, to earning a 3.8 GPA at the University of Las Vegas and establishing a stable life for herself.

Although her arranged boyfriend does receive sex, it is not the only way he benefits from the relationship. Chloe says she has helped him become a healthier person, supports his ideas, and his over all well-being.

Some might say that having an arranged relationship may be the same thing as becoming a prostitute. Prostitution is pretty straight forward; you have sex for money. Chloe does not consider herself only having sex for money. Chloe and her arranged boyfriend have established an actual relationship, and support each other’s wants and dreams, something most people in a relationship don’t even accomplish.

What’s not to love? Love and Money are things people search for the most and now it’s just a click away on craigslist. It seems simple, become a “pro girlfriend,” make good money, pay your bills, go to college, receive stability. It seems like the perfect fantasy. But is it all it’s cracked up to be?

According to Chloe she’s making over $100 grand a year just by being a “pro girlfriend.”Chloe receives “$1,000 in cash a week, rent for her townhouse, about $1,500 a month, about a thousand a month for a clothing expense, payment of her BMW and her insurance.”

Chloe has created a good savings account for herself, established rental properties, has no student debt, and is financially stable.

I always hear people talking about how prostitutes make a lot of money. It seems as though it depends on the type of business you are in, within the adult industry. In my opinion being a prostitute or stripper is not the dream job I fantasize about. although Chloe’s relationship with her arranged boyfriend makes me reconsider the aspects of having an arranged relationship.

When I look at all the aspects of the adult industry, I see drugs, violence, and unstable people. When I look at escorts and arranged relationships compared to prostitution, stripping, webcam models, and porn stars, it’s easy to differentiate.

The stability and safety of having a “sugar daddy,” or “arranged relationship,” is far from the position a prostitute working in the middle of the night on dangerous streets would have.

Although I don’t personally agree with the Adult industry overall, Arranged relationships seem like the most logical way to have a job in the adult industry. People in arranged relationships are not prostitutes, strippers, or porn stars. “Pro girlfriends,” hardly consider themselves part of the adult industry. They are people striving to have a better life and perhaps create a lifelong relationship and promote stability within each other.

A huge variety of dating websites for wealthy men and women are sprouting across the internet, and creating a higher demand for wealthy people in the dating life.

Dating is now considered a sub category for the adult industry all thanks to the idea of pro girlfriends/boyfriends, arranged relationships, and escorts. Seekingarrangements.com and sugardaddyforme.com are only a few out of the many growing sugar daddy websites.

To be quite honest, it’s difficult for me to distinguish the difference between having a sugar daddy and an arranged relationship. I would much rather be honest as to why I’m with someone and have them support my decisions, then fake love with someone for their money.

It would be nice to extinguish both options and the sex industry overall, but unfortunately desperate times call for desperate measures, and someone has to keep the porn business going for all those demanding late night viewers.

Perhaps there were other routes a person in an arranged relationship could have taken, but if working in the adult industry is someone’s “only option,” becoming a pro girlfriend seems like the best choice.

Whenever elections draw near, I find myself contemplating the legitimacy of all of the candidates; Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative. As sad as it may be, it feels as though no politicians can be fully trusted anymore.

The people who we solely rely on to protect our freedoms can barely be honest with us? Shameful, in my opinion.

To be quite honest it makes me not even want to vote. The right that Elizabeth Cady Stanton fought for with great effort, is meaningless if no canidates can even be honest as to whom they are.

Every day I hear politicians and their administrations promote themselves. I don’t care who they claim to be; I care about how everyone else feels about their experiences with the politician.

Various citizens feel as though the Obama Administration is perhaps as curropt as the Nixon Administration was. Times have changed, technology is at its peak and entrepeneurs are crowding indutries.

However, Politicians have stepped in places we never imagined. Political Curroption is destroying America. We are destroying ourselves!

“Obama for America,” or Obama against America? Obama’s recent $447 Billion plan to create new jobs seems brilliant from the outside perspective. However, I am not as easily convinced.

Obama claims the benefits, money, and effort put into this plan will outweigh the extreme amount of money required to follow through with the plan.

Obama is sadly mistaken and could possibly cause America even more debt and a lovely increase in taxes. After all, American’s love taxes! I mean we only fought for taxation without representation in our Declaration of Independence, but what does Independence matter anymore? Were just a forming colony for China.

The only plan Obama needs to create in regards to jobs, is a plan that disallows American companies from hiring overseas operators and engineers. He needs to help preserve American jobs. I’m not sure if Obama has noticed, but people are still losing jobs. America needs to focus on bringing back jobs taken overseas and preserving jobs still existent.

That in itself will help rebuild America, not spending more money. Besides wanting to put America in to a larger pit hole, “This proposal is really not credible,” said Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell.

Although Republicans are not my most favored party, but neither are liars, criminals, and Presidents heading America towards a whirl wind of debt. It seems they have became a Political party all their own.

Photojojo restored just 50 of the Polaroid SX-70’s that Polaroid stopped manufacturing in 1977.

I miss the days of the polaroid. They made taking photos so easy. Now-a-days it’s all about getting the right lighting and framing the subject properly and don’t even get me started on all the post-processing it takes to get a decent image. Lucky for me the wonderful Photojojo restored just 50 of the Polaroid SX-70’s that Polaroid stopped manufacturing in 1977.

If you are a vintage camera lover, like myself you will want to get one of these and quick. There are only 50 available. Photojojo has restored them and selling them for $300 apiece. The film costs $22.00 for 8 exposures. The next release is due mid-October.

The cameras are said to be in perfect working condition and come in specially made packages made by Kate Bingman Burt.

While this Polaroid might not take over every aspect of your photography it would be a nice addition for any collector. You can buy it at Photojojo.

I spent countless hours scouring Twitter to find the most humorous and amusing Twitter backgrounds I could find. I give you the funniest backgrounds on Twitter.

Twitter has become a staple of our society. I cannot even watch the news without getting bombarded by peoples tweets. Newscasters now like you to tweet your responses and they may just read them on air. Celebrities and even celebrity dogs have twitter accounts, we are living in a world obsessed with social networking. I spent countless hours scouring Twitter to find the most humorous and amusing Twitter backgrounds I could find. I give you the funniest backgrounds on Twitter.

1. Chris Pirillo

Ah, Chris Pirillo, technology enthusiast and professional nerd. He doesn’t waste any time wowing you with a special Twitter background, he just lets you know how it is.

2. Wardere

Why is this so funny? See post here.

3. Michael Ian Black

Now I had no idea who this guy was before I saw his Twitter background and I still don’t, but that doesn’t really matter to me. Unicorns and rainbows and dragons, oh my!

4. Jon Pudny

The nerd in me is just forced to love this Photoshop background.

5. Praveen

And another Photoshop background.

6. Steve Agee

I just have to love people who use funny pictures of themselves as their Twitter background.

7. Jason Sweeney

I have been looking at this background for several hours now and I still have no idea what is going on here.

8. Ed Shull

Our very own Ed Shull has made the funny twitter background list. Now, you may not be able to see it at first but if you have a wide enough monitor or you zoom the page out enough you may just spot a friendly little bunny on the right hand side.

9. Jim Carrey

You have to love Jim Carrey, he does everything with style. His Twitter is no exception. I give you what I like to call the Jim Canary.

10. Chris Cooley

Chris Cooley is a professional football player that also owns a pottery shop… I was a big confused when I saw his Twitter, football on one side, pottery on the other. At least he is not afraid to show he has a softer, more sensitive side.

11. Paul Scheer

Paul is a pretty funny guy and while his Twitter background is just an advertisement for NTSF:SD:SUV:: I find it amusing, finger gun and all.

12. Michael McKean

Doesn’t even need a description.

13. Megan Amram

What a disaster. I could imagine this being one of those backgrounds you posted when you accidently selected the bad picture instead of the good one.

You need to send your boss the designs for the new company website. Normally you could just transfer these files over the company network or hand him a USB stick but he is traveling and needs those files within the hour. Time for plan C, you open your email and attach the designs. A box pops up telling you the files are too big totaling around 2.8 gigabytes! What do you do?

Chances are we have all been in this scenario a few times in our life. Traditionally you sign up for a subscription to a third party service, download software, and perform a complicated series of tasks. All to send one single file. One file that would have taken seconds if it had been small enough for email. Great Big Mail, a new email attachment service, eliminates the hassle of sending large files to people over email. The service is simple yet extremely useful.

The process is simple. Step 1, go to GreatBigMail.com and tell them your email address and the email address you wish to send the file or files to. Step 2, use their file selection tool to attach the desired files and wait for them to upload to the GBM server. Step 3, pay a small fee (less than $1) to GBM to cover the storage and bandwidth fees. Within seconds your recipient will receive an email containing a link to download the files. It’s that simple.

GreatBigMail is perfect for anyone who needs to quickly deliver large digital files to other people. Additional options are available such as multiple simultaneous recipients, additional storage fees for extra large files, and password protected files to keep your files safe and accessible only to those who know the password. GBM is great for file formats that are typically large such as video, artwork, CAD, and zip.

Like many other luxury car brands, Porsche also has a line of luxury watches. Porsche was inspired to design their watch much like their car, high quality, unique, robust and trendy. Their newest timepiece is the P6620 dashboard watch.

The face of the watch is black. This special watch face is actually industrial grade titanium. It is covered in black PVD coating making the watch lightweight and rust resistant. The special titanium design also makes the watch water resistant for the first 100 meters.

On the Porsche dashboard watch you will find the dial is 44mm wide and the numbers around the face are painted with white enamel. The cover is made of sapphire crystal to protect the timepiece. The watch is scratch and abrasion resistant and the surface is non-reflective when exposed to intense light.

There are additional pieces on the face that include the seconds’ indicator and the Tachometer, which can indicate speeds of up to 330 km/per hour. If you own one of the superfast Porsche sports car, this feature may just come in handy.

The watch is powered by the self-winding ETA Valjoux 7753 mechanism. This allows the watch to function smoothly while also lending a 48 hour power reserve.

The best part of this watch is the back which has a detailed skeleton view of the inner workings.

The standard titanium version of this watch will come with a black rubber strap but there are supposed to be 20 variets of the watch for both men and women including a gold chassis version. The estimated price is around $5,642.

Following our last Facebook trend alert, why are women putting inches in their status, we’re bringing you another one. With October aka Breast Cancer Awareness Month right around the corner the ladies of Facebook have decided on a new game to play with male minds. The newest Facebook trend is weeks and cravings.

You may see women posting something like, “I’m 4 weeks and craving skittles” or “I’m 13 weeks and craving gummy worms”. Why are women posting weeks in their Facebook status? And why are women posting something that sounds like they’re pregnant on Facebook? Here’s the email I received about the game:

Ok pretty ladies, it’s that time of year again, in support of breast cancer awareness!! So we all remember last years game of writing your bra color as your status?…..or the way we like to have our handbag handy? Remember last year so many people took part that it made national news and, the constant updating of status reminded everyone why we’re doing this and helped raise awareness!! Do NOT tell any males what the status’ mean, keep them guessing!! And please copy and paste (in a message )this to all your female friends to see if we can make a bigger fuss this year than last year!!! I did my part… now YOUR turn ! Go on ladies…and let’s have all the males guessing! .. It’s time to confuse the men again (not that its really that hard to do ) Everyone knows it makes their brains work wonders on what we’re talking about!! The idea is to choose the month you were born and the day you were born. Pass this on to the girls only and lets see how far it reaches around. The last one about the bra went round all over the world. So you’ll write… I’m (your birth month) weeks and I’m craving (your birth date)!!! as your status. Example: Feb 14th is: I’m 2 weeks and craving Chocolate mints!!

It seems like Sir Richard Branson wants everyone to live his lifestyle. First he put his makepeace island in Noosa, Australia up for rent. Now his 3-person, open-cabin submarine, The Necker Nymph, is up for rent as well. Either Sir Richard Branson really wants us to get a glimpse of how he leaves or he is desperate for some extra dough. I cannot decide which.

I have been wanting to get my scuba license for a while now and you can bet that before I take that oh so needed vacation to Hawaii I will have it. Deep sea diving sounds like a whole lot of fun but also a whole lot of scary. I mean, I get freaked out enough just being in the lake not knowing what is swimming around next to me I cannot imagine having the whole ocean underneath me.

The Necker Nymph is Sir Branson’s luxury submarine. It can dive up to 30 meters underwater with a pretty impressive top speed of 6 knots. The submarine can stay under water for up to 2 hours. The open-cabin style submarine can seat 3 but one of those spots is reserved for your pilot. All the passengers would need to wear normal scuba breathing gear.

You can rent it yourself for just $2,500 per day. You can learn more or book your reservation here.

It appears that more and more luxury designers are targeting China and Japan for their luxury launches. It seems as though designers are catching on to the fact that China has more affluent citizens than the U.S. Luxury watch manufacturer, Piaget, is specifically targeting China with the launch of their newest luxury watch campaign.

The new collection of watches with celebrate the year of the Dragon and Phoenix with limited edition time pieces that will include over 20 models for both men and women. The Phoenix and the Dragon are traditional representations of the Chinese years. And both are common symbols often associated with the Chinese culture. They are easy to recognize and have great meaning to some. A few of the new luxury timepiece models include the Piaget Emperador XL, Piaget Altiplano and the Limelight Twice.

The Piaget Emperador XL is only going to be made available in 8 pieces. The timepiece will feature an 18K pink gold case that is hand engraved with a dragon design and set with 257 brilliant cut diamonds. The luxury timepiece will have a grey alligator leather strap.

The Piaget Altiplano will have two cases on one watch. The uppercase will be covered in 381 brilliant-cut diamonds along with an astonishing 60 baguette-cut diamonds. The lower case comes with 355 brilliant-cut diamonds, hand engraving on the back and 18K white gold phoenix design. This timepiece will also be limited to a release of just 8 watches. This watch is has a white alligator leather strap.

If you thought those first two were beautiful take a look at The Limelight Twice. The watch is double-sided. One side consists of 18K white gold and a sunburst motif created out of 226 brilliant-cut diamonds. The flipside of the watch is also 18K white gold and has 52 brilliant-cut diamonds around the face. The strap is a reversible black and white strap.

The Roomba robot vacuum was pretty popular when it came out. Now iRobot’s Roomba has a little bit of competition from Toshiba’s Smarbo.

So what is the major difference between the Roomba and the Smarbo? Well, for one, the price of the Smarbo is around $1,200. That is pretty expensive for a vacuum. The price reminds me of when one of those at home demonstrators came to my house and tried to sell me one of those Rainbow vacuum cleaners/air purifier thingies that costs $3,000. That price just seems a little steep for something that could get stepped on, broken or stuck. Not to mention that these little robotic vacuums are rather small. I have a dog that sheds a lot and I just do not think this thing could pick up all the hair in one trip.

The Smarbo has two CPU’s that make the machine go although Toshiba hasn’t said what kind. There is a camera on board and 38 sensors that tell the little vacuum where to go, when to stop, how much to accelerate and the distance of objects. The little thing can sure move, that is for sure. The Smarbo can cover 100sqm in just 90 minutes. Also, if you are worried about being green then little vacuum will only cost about $0.03 to clean a room of that size.

The new Smarbo will be released on October 1st in Japan and comes with a remote control and chargin station. Let the robotic vacuum war begin.
