Following Virgin Galactic we discussed the Bloon that would fly 36 kilometers above the Earths surface for a truly unique view of our planet. Now Russian company, Orbital Technologies, has announced it plans to create a space hotel.

Oribtal Technologies is going to be offering a $1 million vacation plan. The trip to the hotel would take 2 days in a special Soyuz rocket flown by an experienced crew. 7 passengers would be allowed to the hotel at a time and the space hotel itself has 4 cabins reserved for the guests and crew members.

Of course a five-star space vacation like this wouldn’t be complete without food. Special delicacies like potato soup and braised veal cheeks would be cooked on Earth and then flown with the passengers to the hotel.

The guests will experience a weightless vacation and have the choice of using either vertical or horizontal beds in accordance with the personal preference. The hotel would have waste management facilities and water management to make sure that the limited supply is used to its full extent.

With a $1 million dollar price tag I don’t expect to many average-joes are going to be able to afford this space stay but we’ll just have to wait to see how it turns out. The hotel is expected to be finalized and open for visits in 2016.

There is a living room, 2 bathrooms, bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, conference room and a retractable spiral staircase that connects the upper and lower floors. Of course you cannot relax without the latest entertainment, throughout the vehicle there are 7 plasma screens.

I wouldn’t even think about stealing this thing as it comes with a massive security system too. When someone approaches the sound inside the trailer will lower and the outside cameras will give you a complete 360 degree view of who is outside and what is happening inside.

I wouldn’t mind taking this bad boy for a spin, riding around in this would be like a yacht on land. Now, I wonder what he plans on doing with it. Whatever it is he won’t be able to dodge the paparazzi that’s for sure, it’s not inconspicuous at all.

There are actually several different signature suites from an Adventure Island Suite to a Pirates of the Caribbean Suite but my favorite is probably the Fairy Tale Suite. The concept of Tropical Island Paradise seems to be, why have just a yacht, when you can cruise around in your own island.  The yacht features a beach cove of cabanas on the main deck, with a swimming pool looking like a lagoon in the center.  You could live like Tom Hanks in Castaway, only you would be going somewhere at the same time.

Considering the world produces over three hundred billion tons of paper a year, the effects of buying a smart phone would help preserve our world greatly.

Since people today are always striving to take the technical route, why not take the “green approach,” at the same time?
